The deep abdominal muscles, also known as transversus abdominus, are important muscles to get to know during pregnancy! If you can contract these muscles correctly it will help to prevent and reduce low back pain and abdominal separation. It is fantastic to practice this now because it will come in handy when you do your core strengthening work after birth.
