Crisis of confidence

Hello mamas and welcome back to the Pregnancy with Physio Laura podcast.

Today we are kicking off with episode 6, the final episode, in the Birth with Confidence series, diving into crises of confidence in labour. In this episode we’ll discuss common points in labour when women may doubt themselves, what this may look like, how it’ll often only last for a few contractions but the importance of having the right birth team to help you navigate through it well so that labour doesn’t become hijacked. This is episode 6 of a 6 part Birth with Confidence series with the incredibly wise Rhea Dempsey, a birth worker, childbirth educator, counsellor and best-selling author of the incredible books Birth with Confidence and Beyond the Birth Plan.

And don’t forget we have already released the first 5 episodes in this series, where we chat with Rhea all about the natural hormonal dance between a mother and baby, the importance of queen oxytocin and how to set up a beautiful oxytocin bubble at home, the role of endorphins and adrenaline in late stage labour, the importance of understanding and reframing labour pain and the current issues within our birth culture. So make sure you go back and listen to those episodes when you get a chance as they are so informative.

Now let’s get into episode 6 in our 6 part Birth with Confidence series. Crises of confidence is such an important topic to know about and be prepared for when you are entering into labour and birth. Enjoy!
