Labouring at home & stimulating oxytocin

Hello mamas and welcome back to the Pregnancy with Physio Laura podcast. 

Today we are kicking off the Ask the Midwife series, diving into the importance of labouring at home for as long as you can and how we can boost the labour hormone oxytocin. We’ll discuss why 0-4cm of dilation is often the longest part of labour, why it’s important to keep the oxytocin hormone flowing and how you can best do that and tips to help you manage the car ride to hospital. This is episode 1 of a 6 part Ask the Midwife series with the amazing Beth Ryan. 

Beth is a midwife and childbirth educator who works primarily in the public hospital system.
